I've probably said it here before, but I'll say it again: I like Poplar wood, at least some of it.

Once in a while, I remind myself that sometimes, a piece can be simple and even ordinary, and that can be enough.

My Aunt's birthday is on Halloween, so I thought I could make a bowl that would work on both levels.

I made this bowl several weeks ago, but it has been waiting its turn for a long time.

Full disclosure: I made a smaller version of this bowl first, and right before it was finished, I accidentally destroyed it.

I had a beautiful piece of Black Walnut left over from another project. The grain was too nice to toss...
